This Is The Elite Special Police Unit That Has Been Assembled To Arrest NASA Leaders

The arrest of organizers of NASA leader Raila Odinga swearing in ceremony as the ‘People President’ is not about to stop if reports appearing on a section of the media are to be believed.

Security apparatus are said to have formed a crack unit drawing officers from the Flying Squad and the Special Crimes Unit to arrest Opposition figures who planned the mock swearing in of the NASA leader.

This same unit was involved in the arrest of self declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna who was eventually deported to Canada.

Here is what is known of the Special Police Unit:

The unit, according to the Sunday Nation, is led by Mr Said Kiprotich and a Chief Inspector Njoroge

Has between 20 to 30 officers in its ranks who carry out the operations

Unit is under the command of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations

Subaru Forester and Subaru Outback are their preferred cars thanks to their reliability and speed

Their cars don’t have the usual GK registration numbers. At times the cars are fitted with foreign number plates

The officers in this unit can pass for any regular guy if their dressing is anything to go by. Some grow dreadlocks; look trendy to camouflage their identity.

The unit was involved in the arrest of Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang for administering the oath on Raila Odinga. They unsuccessfully attempted to arrest NASA financier Jimi Wanjigi among other high profile operations targeting NASA leaders.
