His hard tackle tactics on Opposition leaders, clampdown on the media and disregard of orders passed by judges is a subtle message to Kenyans that it’s not business as usual.

William Ruto-Deputy President
While his influence is dimming, Deputy President William Ruto remains an integral part of President Uhuru Kenyatta inner sanctum. It goes without saying that the DP supported the crackdown on Opposition leaders who participated in the oathing of Raila Odinga as the ‘People President’.
Fred Matiang’i-Interior CS (Super Minister)
The man from Etago, Kisii county is seen as the oil that lubricates President Uhuru Kenyatta administration. He makes things happen and was a darling of many when he served as the Education Cabinet Secretary. His elevation to the powerful interior docket has brought an ugly side to a man who is always frowning. Fred Matiang’i orchestrated the deportation of Miguna Miguna in total disregard of a court order. Three major TV stations were shutdown under Matiang’i orders. He is one of President Uhuru’s most trusted advisers.
JOE MUCHERU-ICT Cabinet Secretary
He worked hand in hand with Matiang’i to deny Kenyan access to information by shutting down NTV, Citizen TV, Inooro TV and NTV. Joe Mucheru is said to be among those enlisted to deal with Opposition leaders who participated in Raila Odinga’s swearing in ceremony.
GITHU MUGAI-Attorney General
The AG is said to spend a lot of time at State House to advice the President on matters legalese. He was part of the team that came up with the strategy to deal with post Raila swearing in organizers including the deportation of Miguna Miguna to Canada. He informed the President decision to form Chief Administrative Secretary positions.
KINUTHIA MBUGUA-State House comptroller
The former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua decides if you will see the Head of State and who sits in key meetings.
PHILIP KAMERU- Director-General of the National Intelligence Service
He is part of the President inner circle and is said to be involved in arrest of key politician involved in Raila’s oathing.
Together with Mbugua, President Uhuru Kenyatta nephew Jomo Gecaga holds sway on who sees the Head of State.
Raphael Tuju-Jubilee Party Secretary General
He is the President attack dog who was given the confusing cabinet without portfolio docket.
